Monty Retires after nearly 30 Years of Service!

Gordon ‘Monty’ Davies retired from Major Owen Ltd. in June 2018 after serving almost 30 years.

“Major Owen Ltd. was part of my daily round when I was working for Walker Engineering and the only place I’d be offered a cup of tea. I knew I wanted to work for this company!”

Monty began working for Major Owen Ltd. in October 1989. His role involved managing sales of ground and turf care machinery across the North coast of North Wales, Chester, and the Wirral. Over the next few decades Monty helped to shape Major Owen Ltd. into the company as it’s known today.

Monty’s specialist knowledge ranged from Kubota ground care machinery, small Agri tractors and utility vehicles to professional turf care machinery such as Dennis and SISIS. This range allowed him to identify the needs of caravan and camping parks, contractors, and sports venues to mention a few, whilst delivering the highest standard of customer service.

Andy Jones, MD for Major Owen Ltd. says “Monty will be sorely missed not just by us but the customers and manufacturers alike. He was a big asset to our company with a wide knowledge base for ground and turf care machinery. We wish Monty all the best in his retirement.”
